Right now, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking approval from the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) to finalize a contract with their affiliate company (Puget LNG) to begin operating their LNG facility on the Tacoma Tideflats in May–
months before the Puyallup Tribe and environmental organizations challenging the facility will receive a decision on their appeal, which could invalidate PSE’s permits and prohibit the facility from operating.
The UTC has the ability to amend this contract to ensure it is in the public interest.
We know this facility endangers our health, safety, and climate.
The UTC needs to hear from the public that they must delay the operation of the facility and conduct an investigation to determine whether the contract between PSE and Puget LNG serves the public interest.
Tweet or post on your Facebook Page to the @WAUTC:
Allowing PSE to flip the switch on Tacoma LNG in May is NOT in the public interest. #NoLNG253 #FrackOffPSE

Indivisible Tacoma and environmental groups are focused strongly on the Clean Fuels Standard right now and asking Sen. Steve Conway (LD 29) to support it.
The Clean Fuels Bill (HB 1091) passed the House and now is in the Senate Environmental, Energy, and Technology Committee, which is scheduled to hold a hearing on the legislation on March 10.
The bill, proposed by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, would require the Washington Department of Ecology to adopt rules to implement a CFS by 2023.
The program would limit the aggregate, overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emission per unit of transportation fuel energy to 10 percent below 2017 levels by 2028 and 20 percent below 2017 levels by 2035.
Eligible biofuels, renewable natural gas (RNG), hydrogen, and agricultural and forest waste are among the fuels that could be used to comply with reduce Washington’s GHG emission y 2.7 million metric tons per year by 2030.
The bill would exclude exported fuel, fuel used by vessels, railroad locomotives, aircraft and certain other categories of transportation fuel from the CFP’s GHG emission intensity reduction requirements.

Calls to Action in the State Legislature.
Opt in for email notices.
One of the most powerful things we can do now is contact our own representatives in Olympia and do it at the time a bill is in front of them!
saying “I want to receive calls to action by email. I live in the ___th Legislative District.”
This is a way to get timely notices, if you are not logging in to TAN (Take Action Network.)
