Learn how to register voters!

April 11 – SAVE THE DATE!

VOTER REGISTRATION TRAINING

Did you know that only 23% of Pierce County voted in the election last November?

Your Education and Outreach Team has been busy creating a membership training to increase that percentage. Come to the training, and develop the skills and confidence you need to register voters in any situation.  We will review the rules and procedures, help you team up with other voter registration enthusiasts, lead you through confidence-building exercises, and help you identify good locations.

So that you leave fully equipped and ready to go, we have Voter Registration Packets for volunteers who complete the training. The Packets include:

  • One each: Pocket Folder, Volunteer Instruction Sheet, Washington State Guide to Registering Voters, 11×17 display sign, Directory of Officials
  • Twenty-five Voter Registration Forms in English
  • Five each: Voter Registration Forms in Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese
  • Two each: 8×11 laminated display signs and Voter Pamphlets

To defray the costs of the laminated signs we are asking for a suggested donation of $5.00 for each packet.

Please join us on April 11, at 6:30, at the Unitarian Universalist Church at:

1115 South 56th St, Tacoma, WA 98408

You can share the event with your Facebook friends here.

LET’S get GOING!!!!

Join Us at Summer for Progress Canvassing

Join Indivisible members Rebecca Parson and Jesica Vega at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday August 19, for Indivisible Tacoma’s first-ever canvassing event at the Proctor Farmer’s Market.

The event will start with a one-hour training at Alegre Bakery, and then canvassers will join the crowd at the Farmer’s Market to share about Indivisible Tacoma and ask people to call their Members of Congress on the spot.

This event combines Indivisible National’s suggestion to canvas during the August recess, with the “Summer for Progress” initiative designed to push Democratic MoC’s towards more progressive and people-friendly legislation.

While Indivisible National has not yet announced a progressive platform of its own, it supports regional chapters to take initiative in furthering progressive legislation and causes, so that’s what we’re going to do on August 19; and that’s what we’re going to keep doing while we also fight the Trump administration with everything we’ve got.

So please join Jesica and Rebecca on Saturday, August 19, and let’s have a great time sharing our dedication to a government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.
